What is a nature hotel? In short: a hotel in nature. Not on, not next to or near, but right in the middle of it and completely surrounded by it. What's more, nature sets the tone in the hotel itself, in its furnishings and design, in its DNA and deep in the hearts of the people who work here. Because without it, everything is nothing. We are all nothing. This blog article is about the heart and soul of our nature hotel Runa, our respect for the Rodenecker-Lüsner Alm and a concept with a future.

No nature, no hotel:
that's the idea behind our concept.
At Runa, nature lovers have always been at work
Take only what you need. Take good care of it so that your great-grandchildren can still enjoy it. Work with nature, never against it, and treat all creatures – big or small – with the same respect. This is how our ancestorsdid it, and we have no intention of changing anything. That's why we've given Runa the nickname ‘nature hotel’. Not as a fancy advertising label, but as a statement and a promise. We want to show you how much luxury can be found in seemingly simple things and how special nature is. As a haven for quiet nuances and a bastion of tranquillity, we are your hideaway close to the heartbeat of mountain nature.
What makes the Naturhotel Runa so special:
#1: Location, location, location
The Runa is located in the heart of the Rodenecker-Lüsner Alm, the (more beautiful?) little sister of the world-famous Seiser Alm. You won't find any cars up here, and when the day visitors and hikers are back down in the valley, Europe's longest high alpine pasture shows its true face: it is quiet and beautiful And the fact that foxes and hares say good night to each other up here is no myth, but nothing but the truth. In winter tracking in the fresh snow is one of our regular guests' favourite pastimes.
#2: Active. But gentle.
There are no lifts around the Naturhotel Runa, no ‘tourist infrastructure’ as they say. Instead, there is plenty of landscape and space for (winter or snowshoe) hiking, cross-country skiing, tobogganing, walking and strolling. Children in particular benefit from the apparent boredom of nature. Here's why.
#3 Enjoyment in tune with the seasons
We eat what is currently growing. Out in the forest or in our own garden. Chef Alex cooks in tune with the rhythm of nature. With great respect for culinary traditions and animal welfare, his natural cuisine is honest, authentic and simply delicious.
#4 Slumber and let your soul unwind? Of course!
Valuable old wood and fragrant Swiss stone pine. Fine loden fabric and large windows with the very best views of alpine pastures, trees, meadows and mountains: the outdoors is reflected indoors. At the Naturhotel Runa, 13 enchanting rooms await you, each one a small universe of comfort. Naturally!
